Sky Styles
Our sky library has been pre-defined with the correct colour temperature, brightness and saturation applied to maintain a natural blue without looking fake. The retouchers will either use a gradient sky on a sunny, cloud-free day or one of the skies from our library on cloudy days.
Cloudy Days
When a cloudless sky is applied to an image taken on an overcast day, the results can look a bit off - flat, unnatural, and lacking the contrast you’d normally see on a sunny day. That’s because on cloudy days, the light is soft and diffused, so the ground has no defined shadows, while a cloudless sky suggests the opposite.
To keep things looking consistent and natural, we will use skies with some cloud for images captured on cloudy days.
If you specifically want a totally cloudless sky despite shooting in overcast conditions, just mention it clearly in your brief and we’ll make it happen.
Specific Sky Requests
If you would like a specific sky to be used, please quote the sky number in the brief when uploading. For example:
"Please use sky DAYTIME 01 for this order"
